The English curriculum is designed to challenge and support all of our students to ensure that they achieve the best outcomes possible and instill a lifelong love of Literature and reading. Our mission across all key stages is to celebrate and boost the students’ confidence, development and understanding of reading, writing and oracy. Our varied curriculum offers our diverse intake of students an opportunity to engage with the rich tapestry of English Literature and Language. This is supported by embedding and teaching the key skills throughout each key stage. These include: analysis, description, explanation and critical thinking skills. Outside of the classroom students are encouraged and given opportunities to enhance their appreciation of cultural capital by pursuing hobbies and interests in debating, book club, public speaking, coupled with theatre visits and trips.
