A specialist Key Stage 3 provision within the Inclusion Faculty

Studio 30 is a calm, thoughtfully structured Key Stage 3 provision designed to meet the diverse needs of its students. We combine a strong commitment to each young person’s personal and emotional development with high academic ambition. Every child is known as an individual, expectations are high, and students are supported to make meaningful progress while growing in confidence and independence.
Curriculum and Learning: Ambitious, Accessible and Personalised
Learning in Studio 30 is carefully adapted so every student can access the curriculum and make sustained progress at a pace that suits them. In most subjects, students follow the same ambitious body of knowledge as their mainstream peers with thoughtful adjustments to teaching methods, resources and assessment. This ensures diverse needs are met without lowering expectations.
Personalised support: Each student’s individual goals sit at the heart of daily planning. Support is tailored, responsive and often delivered through one‑to‑one sessions. Progress towards personal outcomes is tracked closely so families can clearly see the impact of the provision.
Flexible pathways: For students who need a more bespoke approach, individualised lessons and personalised programmes are built into the day. These allow each child to learn at the right pace and level of challenge while remaining connected to the wider learning community.
Personal Development: Building Independence, Self‑Awareness and Confidence
Personal development is a core part of Studio 30. We treat these skills as something to be taught, practised and celebrated — not simply hoped for.
Self‑regulation, taught explicitly. Weekly strategy sessions help students learn and practise essential self‑regulation techniques. Our purpose‑built sensory room supports students to reach a calm, focused state that makes learning possible.
Self‑awareness and communication. Students learn to understand their own needs, strengths and emotions, and practise communicating these clearly and confidently.
Self‑advocacy and assertiveness. We teach students how to express their views, make choices, and advocate for themselves in a safe, supported way building skills that will serve them well beyond school.
Ownership of their goals. Students are supported to understand and track their own targets. Knowing what they are working towards builds genuine ownership and pride in their progress.
Enrichment, Life Skills and Preparing for the Future
Studio 30 offers a rich, practical experience that extends far beyond the classroom, with a strong focus on preparing students for adulthood and independent life.
Outdoor learning. Students regularly access outdoor learning opportunities, helping them apply skills in real settings and build confidence in the wider community.
Generalising real‑world skills. Educational trips throughout the year are used purposefully to help students transfer what they’ve learned into everyday environments.
Social development. A range of structured enrichment activities including karate and lunchtime clubs — supports communication, teamwork and social interaction in a positive, enjoyable context.

Keeping students safe is central to everything we do. The environment is closely supervised, predictable and designed to help every child feel secure. Safeguarding is woven into daily practice.
