Winchmore is committed to providing high quality and inclusive Relationships, Sex and Health Education for all students. Our curriculum supports and underpins the ethos of the school and is rooted in safeguarding. Our curriculum intends to offer a cohesive whole- school approach, bringing together the pastoral and academic elements of life which enables our students to realise their potential, become healthy and safe, independent, and contributing and responsible members of society for work and life in modern Britain. RSHE is delivered by form tutors three times over the fortnightly timetable and varies in tasks, including whole class and group work, discussion and debate to promote and develop critical thinking and literacy (specifically oracy), assemblies and workshops, visits from external organisations, and educational extracurricular activities. The British Values and Equality Act are promoted through our curriculum with a view to develop students’ cultural capital, sense of belonging and provide opportunities for them to thrive and achieve in their personal development and wellbeing.
