Enrichment
Enrichment of the School Curriculum takes place throughout the year – before and after school, at lunchtimes, weekends and during the school holidays.
It is intended to support all areas of the Curriculum and is delivered by a wide range of staff. Further details are available in the section on Extra-Curricular activities.
We strongly recognise the value of educational and social trips and visits.
Community School Sports Day also takes place in the last week of the school year – weather permitting!
EXTRA CURRICULAR
There are many enrichment opportunities for students at Winchmore school. We run an extensive Pupil Enrichment Programme and the programme enables staff to make a positive impact to our students on a daily basis.
At Winchmore there are many extra curricular and enrichment opportunities for students which support students and ensures they are challenged in innovative ways. Winchmore students have the opportunity to attend many trips that aim to enhance both their learning and personal development.
Our Pupil Enrichment Programme specifically targets key areas of development for students and ensures they are challenged in new and innovative ways, which are all in line with the current curriculum.

Click here to see our trips over the last year.
Please get in contact with me if you would like to discuss further any of the trips or even if you have ideas that the students would love to experience. The students are welcome to pop into my office in the library also if they have an idea for an exciting and inspiring trip or visit.
We believe strongly in extra curricular activities, particularly out of school trips and visits. As well as helping to promote the social and emotional development of our students, enrichment events also help to bring us together as a close knit community.
Trips and visits pre covid saw Winchmore students visit many different countries from China to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, Costa Rica, Iceland, France and Italy Annually we offer a ski trip and a year 7 summer residential. Since Covid Trips and visits have become practical and everyday occurrences. Over the last academic year 75% of our students have been on either a day trip or residential.

2023 School Travel Awards winner : Mrs Tidmarsh
I feel very lucky to win this award and to accept it on behalf of the Winchmore School community. It was lovely to attend an event that recognised inspiring people, the best companies, venues and attractions providing school trips. I have certainly come away with some new exciting ideas for future trips. I would not have won this award if it wasn't for the great staff community at Winchmore believing in 'learning outside the classroom'. The prize money will help to continue our belief of learning beyond the M25
