Enrichment

Enrichment of the School Curriculum takes place throughout the year – before and after school, at lunchtimes, weekends and during the school holidays.

It is intended to support all areas of the Curriculum and is delivered by a wide range of staff. Further details are available in the section on Extra-Curricular activities.

Whole school Enrichment occurs during a three day period towards the end of the school year. We strongly recognise the value of educational and social trips and visits and consequently we schedule two days of trips and visits organized from within both the Academic Faculties and the Learning Communities. Details of these are made available to all students during the Spring Term in order to enable a staged payment process where applicable.

In addition to these days we hold the Inter – Community School Sports Day during this period – weather permitting!

EXTRA CURRICULAR

There are many enrichment opportunities for students at Winchmore school. We run an extensive Pupil Enrichment Programme and the programme enables staff to make a positive impact to our students on a daily basis.

Our Pupil Enrichment Programme specifically targets key areas of development for students and ensures they are challenged in new and innovative ways, which are all in line with the current curriculum.

Winchmore School offers a wide range of activities and workshops as breakfast, lunch, after-school activities.

There are a vast number of trips at Winchmore School run throughout the year for all students. The Enrichment Week in July 2015 will be an exciting extension of this with a wide variety of many different types of trips being organised by both Faculties and Learning Communities.

Over the past years Winchmore students have been given the opportunities to attend many trips that have enhanced both their learning and personal development.

Click here to see our trips over the last year.

Following on from my recent appointment as School travel coordinator we are hoping that the students will have even more opportunities to enrich their learning even further . There are trips planned for the coming months already.

Please get in contact with me if you would like to discuss further any of the trips or even if you have ideas that the students would love to experience. The students are welcome to pop into my office in the library also if they have an idea for an exciting and inspiring trip or visit.

I feel very lucky to win this award and to accept it on behalf of the Winchmore School community. It was lovely to attend an event that  recognised inspiring people, the best companies, venues and attractions providing school trips. I have certainly come away with some new exciting ideas for future trips. I would not have won this award if it wasn't for the great staff community at Winchmore believing in 'learning outside the classroom'. The prize money will help to continue our belief of learning beyond the M25
